Four Special Assistants of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan have dual citizenship. It has been disclosed by the government itself. Their properties and citizenship information have been uploaded on the government website. Following this revelation, the opposition has questioned the attitude of the government. On the other hand, the government has stated in its cleanliness that it has not tried to hide anything.
Imran’s 20 advisors
The Government of Pakistan has stated that the Prime Minister has 20 advisors. Of these, 19 are non-electives i.e. those who did not come out of the election. There are four special assistants who have citizenship of another country besides Pakistan.
They have dual citizenship
Nadeem Babar: Consultant for Petroleum Affairs. Also holds US citizenship.
Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari: Foreign Affairs Advisor. Britain also has citizenship.
Shahzad Qasim: Advisor on Power Sector Affairs. Also holds US citizenship.
Tania S. Ardous: Digital Affairs Consultant. Canada also has citizenship.
Resident permit with these three
Shahbaz Gill: Political Advisor. Temporary residence permit in the US.
Moeed Yusuf: National Security Advisor. Temporary Citizens of America.
Nadeem Afzal Gondal: Consultant for Parliamentary Affairs. Temporary citizens of Canada.
What did the opposition say?
Nawaz Sharif’s party PML-N and Bilawal Bhutto’s party surrounded the government on this revelation. PML-N MP Mukhtar Asif said – what kind of Prime Minister and what kind of government is this. If the four advisors to the head of the country are citizens of two countries, then what will not endanger the country? This is a big threat to the security of the country. PPP MP Sherry Rehman said- If someone cannot become a foreign MP then how can he be the special advisor to the Prime Minister of the country.
