Disney may not produce fully animated films while everyone is stuck at home during lockdown, but it has come up with a new series of shorts – At Home with Olaf – all around the eponymous character from their Frozen franchise Moves towards It features voice actor Josh Gad and animator Hyrum Osmond, who oversees Olaf Animation at Disney. Gad and Osmond both worked with At Home on Olaf in their respective homes, a brainchild of Disney animation chief and Frozen & Frozen 2 co-director Jennifer Lee. Gad and Disney Animation with Olaf at home will be available on social media.
“My friend [Lee] And [Osmond] Call me one day [and] Asked me if i will be able [to] Record some dialogues and sounds as Olaf from home said In a tweet on Monday, retweeted the first short episode. “These short shorts from home by Hyrum and the Disney animation team are very attractive [and] It is expected to provide a smile during these scary times. “
In the first 40-second short span of At Home with Olaf, titled “Fun with Snow”, the snowmen are talking, throwing snowballs into the woods and having a cheerful time. Olaf accidentally lifts the head of a mini-snowman – they are known as “Snoggy” in the frozen universe – and blows it up just like the rest, only to realize what he has done. Thankfully, the icy wind in question moves and rejoins his head. Olaf expects an icy comeback and dazzles him, only for this he will smile widely and jump with glee. A relief Olaf does again.
Certainly, the first At Home with Olaf Short is nothing great – technically or story-wise – but it’s still impressive that it was done in all people’s homes. Also, Olaf is the beloved character of many, and these short episodes are sure to brighten someone’s day, as you can see in the Twitter and YouTube comments. And if anything, Alt With Olaf is better than forcing theater goers to sit through a 21-minute short film (Olaf Frozen Adventure) in front of the 2017 theater movie Coco.
