New York. China wants to control its control by trapping corrupt leaders of countries with poor economy. In many countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, China has shown its intention of expansionary policy.
A recent report by Global Watch Analysis has claimed that it has also infiltrated Nepal through Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Oli has also been bribed for this. The report said that Ollie’s wealth has grown rapidly in the last few years and he has bought a lot of assets in other countries as well, in return for which he has implemented many of China’s business plans in Nepal.
Olly also has an account with Mirabod Bank in Geneva, Switzerland
According to the report, Nepal’s Prime Minister Oli also has an account with Mirabod Bank in Geneva, Switzerland. There are about 41.34 crores deposited in this account. He has invested this amount in the form of long term deposits and shares. With this, Oli and wife Radhika Shakya are also getting a profit of about 1.87 crores annually.
Oli also invested in Cambodia
The report claimed that Oli invested in Cambodia’s telecommunications sector in its first term in 2015-16. He was then assisted by Wu Chuntai, the Chinese ambassador to Nepal. The deal was decided by businessman Ang Shering Sherpa, close to Oli. Cambodia Prime Minister Hoon Sen and Chinese diplomat Bo Jiangeo were also helped in the deal.
Keeping the rules in mind, he signed a contract to create a digital action room in December 2018 with Chinese company Huawei. In May 2019, Nepal Telecommunication tied up with a Hong Kong Chinese company to create a radio access network. In the same year, a deal was also signed with Chinese company JTE to install 4G network. Both these projects were to be completed at a cost of Rs 1106 crore, although questions were raised on the way their contracts were awarded.
