Sundar Pichai, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Google has been promoted. Now Pichai has also been made CEO of Alphabet, Google’s parent company. In 2015, Alphabet was founded by Google. It is a matter of pride for Indians that this company has also appointed Sundar Pichai as CEO in his other company.   1. Sundar Pichai was born in the state of Tamil Nadu, India in 1972. Sundar’s mother was a stenographer and her father was an electrical engineer at GEC, a British company.
  2. Sundar started studying at Jawahar Vidyalaya in Chennai and then B.Tech at IIT Kharagpur. Went to study Here he received a silver medal in his batch. 
  3. After completing his B.Tech degree, Sundar did an MS from Stanford University and later did an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 
  4. After his MBA, Pichai started consulting company McKinsey. Worked in product management department for many years. 
  5. In 2004, Sundar Pichai got a job in Google. Here he worked as a product manager. Here he continued to handle Android, Chrome, Google Apps, Search, Research, Maps, Commerce, AIDS, Infrastructure and Google Plus. Later, he has reached this stage step by step. 
  6. In 2008, he was made Vice President of Product Development. After which he was made CEO of Google in 2015. 
  7. Sundar Pichai designed the Gmail and Google Map apps which became popular overnight. These apps took him to a very high place. 
  8. Pichai was also offered to join Twitter, but Google stopped him by giving him big money (around Rs 305 crore). Pichai was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Google in 2018 for around 47. Crores of dollars (about Rs. 3,337 crores) were received.
  9. In an interview, Sundar Pichai told, ‘My life has been ordinary. I had a modest home in childhood. Which was also rented. I and my family used to sleep on the ground.
  10. Pichai told: I enrolled in IIT Kharagpur and then got the scholarship for admission at Stanford University. But I didn’t even have the air ticket money, so the father had to take a loan for me.
