Due to Corona virus, sports competitions are not being organized in India for the last four months. After almost one and a half months of onlock, all the players have not yet started their practice. In order to bring the Games back on track, Union Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju held a meeting with the Ministers in-charge of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department of all states and union territories through video conference on Wednesday. It has been indicated from the meeting that it may take at least two or three more months for the Games to begin.
The purpose of the meeting was to prepare a roadmap for development of grassroots sports along with activities of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and Rashtriya Seva Yojana across the country. Rijiju said,
