Stock market opens amid strong signals from foreign markets, Sensex crosses 31,000

After excellent trading on Wednesday, the stock markets are still open in good mood. Today, the market has seen a boom since it opened. The 30-share BSE Sensitive Index Sensex is trading above 31,848 with a gain of 226 points. Today, the National Stock Exchange (NSE), based on 50 stocks, the sensitive index Nifty is also trading at 9,797 with a gain of 65 points.

On the other hand, the domestic stock market continued the ups and downs during initial trading on Wednesday, but during the afternoon trading, there was strong buying, which led to the Sensex rising 996 to close above 31600 while the Nifty remained above the psychological level of 9300.

The domestic stock market was buzzing due to strong signals from foreign market and strong buying in banking, finance and IT sector. At the end of trading, the Sensex closed 995.92 points, or 3.25 per cent, at 31605.22, and the NSE Nifty, the leading index, also closed with a gain of 285.90 points or 3.17 per cent at 9,314.95.

The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index Sensex opened 183.81 points higher at 30,793.11 from the previous session and rose to 31,660.60, though the low was 30,525.68.
