    According to the US Treasury Department website, on Thursday, the United States imposed human rights restrictions on four Chinese individuals, along with Xinjiang Region Communist Party Secretary Chen Kuwango, as well as the Xinjiang Public Security Bureau.

    The Treasury did not specify why sanctions were imposed, although the United States is trying to build pressure on China in its treatment of Muslim Uigars in Xinjiang and Hong Kong’s new national security law.
