Bloody war, the flight of imagination, sorceress, and warrior
No, I am not talking about Game of Thrones, but other Game of Thrones aka Netflix’s new hit show The Witcher (if the headline is not known). Not only me, many obsessive people like me in pop culture have the same opinion – it is because of both the things that both shows are not the same, but also the same director (of a few episodes), Alik Sakharov.
Before we move on, Let me warn you that I am going to tell you some such things which can prove to be spoilers.
The path was not easy for the makers of ‘The Witcher’, as it is not only based on the books of Andrzej Sapkowski but is also one of the most famous role-playing games of our time. More importantly, it has to compete with the success of ‘Game of Thrones’.
People can argue that it was because of Game of Thrones that The Witcher was conceived.
Although Game of Thrones was based on just one group, the makers of it had the freedom to play scenes, which is not possible in The Witcher, as the popular game made a sense of the visuals associated with people aware of it It is, there is very less possibility of different scenes in the series.
However, apart from these things said so far, this show has many more flaws. From the very first scene, Superman – oh, I mean Geralt of Rivia – tries to make the show stand out through the fight of the monster and the monster, but it gets trapped in the labyrinth of the script.
The Witcher takes place simultaneously in three timeframes
Where the story of ‘Game of Thrones’ takes its time to settle down and unleash the characters’ characters one by one in a powerful manner, in front of the audience, all in The Witcher Something happens in a hurry.
While a whole season in GoT culminates in getting the audience exposed to Westeros and its characters, everything in The Witcher gets bombarded. And if you have not played this game or have not read the books, you will be in a big loss, because you will get rained out of many unknown words and you will stop the show and start searching for the meaning of those words on Google. And don’t forget that the show plays well over time – but you won’t understand it until the end of the half-season when your mind is on the verge of bursting.
With a very short story spanning a time span of 70 years She keeps running back and forth. But till then, in Besudhi, you are thinking that what is happening here? Who is doing what? There are many more questions.
The Witcher takes place over three time periods – the story of Geralt of Rivia’s victim of the monster, the story of the birth of Yennefer of Vangerberg, and the story of Siri after losing his empire to Nelfard. All three characters are related to each other, but their timing is completely different.
All this can get you confused, but you will stick to the show till the end of the season – especially because you understand the whole story properly.
Now I leave it up to you whether you consider The Witcher to be the second Game of Thrones or see that which was not in GoT
The flaws of the show need to be removed in the coming season because if you look at the number, it has definitely kept the audience tied. Whether the next Game of Thrones is proven or not, but the show has a lot of power and it can be expected that its end will not be as disappointing as that of GoT. Till then you toss a coin in the name of The Witcher and give it a chance.
