Former India spinner Dilip Doshi has said that Ravindra Jadeja is the best all rounder in all formats of India. By the way, it would not be wrong to say that Ravindra Jadeja is currently the only spinner who is doing well in all three formats.
As far as other spinners are concerned, they have struggled to get a place in the team in all formats. Kuldeep Yadav is a regular in limited overs cricket, but the same cannot be said about the Test format. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin has not got a place in the ODI and T20 team since 2017 while Yuzvendra Chahal is yet to make a place in the Test team.
But Ravindra Jadeja is a regular member of the team for all formats, he does not get opportunities in the playing XI consistently. Ravindra Jadeja played 3 matches out of five T20s in New Zealand tour earlier this year.
In the one-day series, he played all matches but was dropped before the two-Test series. Dhoni said that he considers Ravindra Jadeja to be the best and that he can never exclude him from Playing 11.
Cricketing Almanac Wisden recently described Jadeja as India’s most valuable player in Test cricket in the 21st century. India’s all-rounder was rated as the second most valuable Test player worldwide, with a rating of 97.3, with Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan at the top.
